Hello. My name is Adre (pronounced A dr E Roberts-La boon)
ABOUT ME: I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, working in Iowa since 2014. I specialize in individual and relationship issues, behavioral issues, LGBTQ+, trauma experiences, and childhood transitions. I have worked in a crisis program for the last 3 years. In my practice, I have worked with a wide range of mental health concerns such as life transitions, parenting, anxiety, depression and many others. I have specialized training with crisis and sexuality, as well as trauma and abuse. I have worked with LGBTQ+ and grief. Please see complete list under Additional Specialties.

ABOUT ME: I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Education degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In my approach to therapy, I utilize acceptance-commitment therapy (ACT) to help clients heal from past experiences and work toward achieving their goals. I view the client as the expert of their own life and provide a safe, warm, and non-judgmental space to address any issues or concerns. It is important we build a collaborative and honest relationship where we can explore and work toward goals together.
I have a special interest in LGBTQ+ concerns. Recognizing the impact of oppression and systemic forces is important, and I am committed to being an advocate for individuals who have experienced marginalization. I am willing to lean into the supporting role counselors play in providing justice. I am dedicated to empowering individuals with the tools and techniques as they journey toward their goals.
